Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm, by Chairman, Russell Bailey.    Present were Russell Bailey, Ken Bodeen, Pam Holt, Marge Ogren and Nora Tribys, Troy Kavajecz, DuWayne Zupke and Brett Bodeen.

Motion was made to accept the April 19, 2022 minutes as presented by Scott Jardine, second by Ken Bodeen.  All in favor.   Motion was made by Scott Jardine to accept the April 2022 Treasurer report with a second by Ken Jardine.  All in favor.

Fire Department/EMT call report read.

Citizen’s Input – Planning Committee – no update.  Saturday Market – Judy Moyer reported that Market will operate beginning on May 28th thru October 8th (Applefest Weekend).  No fee for vendors.

ON GOING BUSINESS: 

            Blacktop – Ken reported that we will hear back sometime in May for application results.

ARPA Funds – we will be repairing the sewer line pipe on Braff Road.  Need to advertise for bids as a Class 1 project.

Health & Wellness Grant – Fish Boil has committed to a $5,000 donation.  Changed the remainder fencing to 8 ft high.  Resurface quote signed.  Heavy duty backboard will ship 2 weeks out after ordering.

Clean up Day – set for June 4th with June 11th as back-up day.  Tom Delimat has been scraping/priming to be ready for paint on clean-up day.  He has agreed to paint the higher parts of the building.  He suggested getting at least 10 gallons of white latex paint.  Scott Jardine will pick up paint.

Solar Panels – will be working with Bill Bailey to see about grant opportunities for Sewer Plant.

Consultant for Blacktop Grants – Ken has been putting together the BIL applications.

Grader attachment – Ken Bodeen moved to purchase the Bush Hog Blade grader attachment 225 series from Lulich Implement, Inc. for $15,761.00 (includes hydraulic splitting valves).  Second by Scott Jardine.  All in favor.  Amount $15,761.

Date of Loan:  June 1, 2022

Term Of Loan: 1-year single pay note

Maturity Date: May 31, 2023

Rate of Loan: 2.95%

Russell Bailey moved to finance the purchase of the equipment from Security State Bank, second by Ken Bodeen.  All in favor.

Kinney Valley Project – Will be getting paperwork on Wednesday to sign and return.

NEW BUSINESS:

FR246 Culvert Replacement – agreement in place.  Will be sending Mark Koshak with USDA Forest Service a budget breakdown for the town crew/equipment & gravel cost.          USDA will supply the culvert.

Compensation to Ken Bodeen as town employee for hours spent for Bid Preparation.  Ken will be reimbursed as a town employee.

Reviewed the Bayfield County Housing & Rehab program

Motion to accept the liquor license application from the Port Bar made by Ken Bodeen.  Second by Scott Jardine.  All in favor.

Motion to accept the liquor license application from the South Shore Bar made by Russell Bailey.  Second by Ken Bodeen.  All in favor.

Motion to accept the liquor license application from Johnson’s Store made by Scott Jardine.  Second by Ken Bodeen.  All in favor

ZONING REQUESTS:   Pete and Riley Prohaska – wants to install culvert on his property similar to the coffee shop/Norvado.  Town Board has no objection.

OPERATOR’S INPUT:  Crew has been working grader on roads.  Troy has not heard anything on the pump for the sewer plant.  They will be installing the docks at the harbor tomorrow.  They have the culvert for FR246.  Hole in the road (WHAT ROAD??).  County Forester wants us to leave the road open – they have job with DNR. They will be working to rehab #2 well next week.   Brett will be helping with grading the roads.  Troy will be on vacation next week.  Town resident had a hole develop in their yard.  We will put a couple loads of dirt to fill.  Brett will hand out information on Large Item Dumpster locations (we do not accept large items).  We will put up NO PARKING in front of post office on Washington Avenue.  Parking allowed only on Bank side of the street. Steve Verbanic would like blacktop or new gravel on Braff & 7th St.  Only street in town that is still gravel.  Fish Boil dug out has been fixed.  Gutters on Town Hall should be installed with cost split with Fish Boil.

John Moyer reported for ATV/UTV Club that they will be re-signing the town with ATV routes.

Pam Holt changed her office hours to Monday and Wednesday 1pm to 5pm.  She is always available by appointment.
