Meeting called to order at 7pm, by Chairman, Scott Jardine. Present were Scott Jardine, Ken Bodeen, Carri Hoagland, Pam Holt, Nora Tribys, Brett Bodeen, Troy Kavajecz and Sam Kurland. Motion was made to accept the meeting minutes from 12-9-2024 by Carri Hoagland, second by Ken Bodeen. All in favor. Motion was made to accept the Emergency Meeting Minutes from 12-16-24 by Ken Bodeen, second by Carri Hoagland. All in favor. Motion was made by Ken Bodeen, second by Carri Hoagland to accept the December 2024 Treasurer report. All in favor.
Citizen’s Input – Planning Commission. Sharon Graham reported – Dock Grant – Coastal Management Grant going through first review. 1997 Park Board Ordinance needs review and update. Board requested a copy of old ordinance be sent to them as reference. ATV/Snowmobile rules are unclear. Request to improve signage. Scott Jardine suggested to reach out to the Fish Boil Club for monetary support. https://www.bayfieldcounty.wi.gov/412/Recreational-Vehicles
Fire Department/EMT. Reviewed Fire Department and EMT reports. Need documentation for DNR grant to get reimbursement
ON GOING BUSINESS:
• Solar Project/EV/Microgrid –Bill Bailey and Amy Simpkins (muGrid) presented update on Solar Project. Internet needs to be installed at Well and Sewer site.
• Blacktop/Road projects –Still unsure regarding date of Highway 13 re-pavement project. Plan on culverts for this summer. Ken Bodeen to get in touch with DOT regarding engineering and planning for Grand Ave project. Need ad for Bids on Grand Ave project ASAP.
• Town Policy Handbook – tabled for further work to be completed.
• Equipment Database – tabled – on going project.
• Wheeler Restoration Site – need to determine fair market value of site.
• Electricity at Dump/Recycle Center – Should be installed on/around January 27th
• Reviewed waste management proposals. To be put on agenda for February meeting.
NEW BUSINESS:
• Need to research Windows 11 for Town Laptop. Windows 10 will no longer be supported.
• Loan payment for Kinney Valley culvert due March 15th. Must complete grant paperwork for reimbursement.
• Northwoods Technical College – looking for Board Members.
• Discussed the additional of Water District payroll/payables added to town books. Will reconcile quarterly with water district
• Resolution 2025-01-16 allowing Town Clerk or Town Treasurer to transfer funds between town accounts at Security State Bank was passed unanimously by the board.
ZONING REQUESTS: None
TOWN CREW REPORT: Furnace at town hall repaired. There are plumbing issues at town hall. Board requested a list of what all needs to be repaired. Update on Quarry Road speed limit signs. New plow truck – Clerk needs original title to order municipal plates. Working on general maintenance and inventory. Still need to replace oil pan on old snow plow truck.
Next meeting set February 10, 2025, at 7pm AT FIRE HALL. Meeting adjourned by Carri Hoagland, second by Ken Bodeen. All in favor.
