Meeting called to order at 8:00 pm, by Chairman, Scott Jardine. Present were Scott Jardine, Ken Bodeen, Carri Hoagland, Pam Holt, Nora Tribys, Brett Bodeen, Troy Kavajecz, and Sam Kurland. Motion was made to accept the meeting minutes from 5-12-2024 by Carri Hoagland, second by Ken Bodeen. All in favor. Motion was made by Ken Bodeen, second by Carri Hoagland to accept the May 2025 Treasurer report. All in favor.

Solar Project – Bill Bailey and Ryan VanLanduyt (Bayfield County) presented update on Solar Grant. The project is on schedule and proceeding as planned.

Citizen’s Input – Planning Commission. Sharon Graham reported – waiting on Army Corp of Engineers for the Dock replacement project. Various Grants will come available for the improvements. Xcel Energy may provide a “Solar Bench” for recharging phones/laptops, etc. Park Commission. Leann Hess reported – Resolution for Bird City/Bird Migration motion by Carri Hoagland, second by Ken Bodeen. All in favor. Lake Superior Day is July 19th. Saturday Market is willing to donate handicap sized toilets for old Fire Hall.

Fire Department/EMT. Reviewed Fire Department and EMT reports. No update on truck #4.

ON GOING BUSINESS:

Grand Ave Blacktop project will start at the end of July. New grant/funding cycle open through Oct 31st. Still no clear idea when Hwy 13 will be resurfaced in Port Wing area.

Town Policy Handbook – need to update for sewer & water information

Equipment Database – This is an on-going project.

Driveway Ordinance – may need approval by Bayfield County. Existing driveways not all meeting standard.

Researching the ability to have a waiver signed by landowner for any damages from Emergency vehicles. Question brought up by damages from fire to neighboring property if fire department could not gain access. Need to have attorney review the waiver.

Liquor License Applications – Motion made by Carri Hoagland to approve Port Bar Liquor License, send by Ken Bodeen. All in favor. Motion made by Ken Bodeen to approve Johnson’s Recreational Properties, LLC Liquor License, second by Carri Hoagland. All in favor. Motion made by Carri Hoagland to approve Jardine’s South Shore Bar, LLC Liquor License, second by Ken Bodeen. All in favor.

NEW BUSINESS:

Clean Sweep Hazardous Waste set for July 31, 2025.

Helsing Road – Gas Tax. Need to remove.

Cloud Storage – need to purchase.

Reviewed Commercial Electrical Permitting document from Bayfield County.

ZONING REQUESTS: Reviewed Short Term Rental Ann Reitz and Land Use Michael Isaksson

TOWN CREW REPORT: Presented bid for Wastewater Plan re-wiring for $13k. Need to get another bid. Worked on oil pan, gravel, culverts, curve signs on Morrison/Thetis. Tractor ready for cutting grass. Touve Rd has “blowout” from logging trucks. Larry Fickbohm reported there is new EMS Coordinator for county wide services.
