Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm, by Chairman, Scott Jardine. Present were Scott Jardine, Ken Bodeen, Carri Hoagland, Pam Holt, Nora Tribys, Brett Bodeen, Troy Kavajecz, and Sam Kurland. Motion was made to accept the meeting minutes from 6-16-2025 by Carri Hoagland, second by Ken Bodeen. All in favor. Motion was made to accept the meeting minutes from Annual Meeting 4-15-2025 by Ken Bodeen, second by Carri Hoagland. All in favor. Motion was made to accept the special meeting minutes from 6-16-2025 by Ken Bodeen, second by Carri Hoagland. All in favor. Motion was made by Ken Bodeen, second by Carri Hoagland to accept the June 2025 Treasurer report. All in favor.

Citizen’s Input – Planning Committee. Sharon Graham reported – Committee is meeting Friday July 25th to discuss next steps for the boat ramp. There are openings on the committee for anyone interested in serving. Port Wing is considered “Safe Harbor” – Janet Johnson has documents regarding the Safe Harbor status and will give the Board a copy. Suggestion to help raise funds for the project by “sponsoring” the dock.
Park Commission -no update.
Driveway Ordinance – John Schmahl addressed concerns. Board and Fire Department will revisit the private road.

Fire Department/EMT. Reviewed Fire Department and EMT reports. Primer cable to pump water is fixed. Rear intake valve needs replacement on #1 pumper. Suggestion to research creating a Fire District which could bring a benefit for funding/grant preference. This could include Port Wing, Orienta, Herbster and Cornucopia.

ON GOING BUSINESS:

Grand Ave Blacktop project will start at the end of July beginning of August.

Town Policy Handbook – need to update for sewer & water information

Equipment Database – This is an on-going project.

Solar Project – Engineering is ongoing

Rossi Hobby Farm – Reviewed results from Bayfield County

NEW BUSINESS:

Clean Sweep Hazardous Waste set for July 31, 2025.

Helsing Road – Gas Tax. Need to remove.

Cloud Storage – need to purchase.

Reviewed Commercial Electrical Permitting document from Bayfield County.

ZONING REQUESTS: Reviewed 7510 Quarry Shores Rd – Garage/Shed; Tax ID#28660 Arney Road – addition to residence;

11960 Touve Rd new residential construction.

TOWN CREW REPORT: Oil Pan fixed. Put down blacktop patch on White Birch. Mowing roadside. Routine maintenance.

Pulling weeds at sewer plant. Tractor tire fixed. Gravel plan going well.

Janet Johnson asked about crosswalk on Hwy 13– culvert at entrance of store needs replacement before project can move forward.

Next meeting set August 11th at 7pm. Hoagland, second by Ken Bodeen. All in favor.

September meeting tentatively set for the 11th
