Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm, by Chairman, Scott Jardine. Present were Scott Jardine, Ken Bodeen, Carri Hoagland, Pam Holt, Nora Tribys, Brett Bodeen, Troy Kavajecz, and Sam Kurland. Motion was made to accept the meeting minutes from 9-8-2025 by Ken Bodeen, second by Carri Hoagland. All in favor. Motion was made by Carri Hoagland, second by Ken Bodeen to accept the September 2025 Treasurer report. All in favor.

• Citizen’s Input – Planning Committee. Gayle Gonsior – Discussed Bayfield County Artesian Well Map and where the wells are in Port Wing. Signage needs for “What is here.” Reviewing Dock specs. Recording Town meetings and posting – needs better tech before this can happen. Review lease with Army Corp of Engineers for Harbor Park Commission.

-Leann Hess – asked who is responsible for the Wheeler Wetlands (DNR or Port Wing). Interest in walking trails. Ken Zivic is working on repairs on the Twin Falls toilets. Two students are on the Park Board and are working on videos for Twin Falls and School Park. They are repainting signs and will work on trail signs.

• Fire Department/EMT. Reviewed Fire Department and EMT reports. Discussed budget struggles and we may end up with losing local EMS and will be covered by the County. Brian Zeman is the Bayfield County EMS Coordinator and has been tasked with producing a plan. Pumper is back and fixed. Parts have been ordered for the #3 truck.

ON GOING BUSINESS:

• Grand Ave Blacktop project will start next week. Need to look at where blacktop has been damaged for utility installations and get bids for repair. Ken attended an LRIP meeting and there is $308k (50/50 funds) available for improvements. Discussed the possibility of repairing Wisconsin Ave for the Emergency Helicopter Landing.

• Town Policy Handbook – need to update for sewer & water information

• Solar Project – ongoing. Need to review tax credits

• Driveway/Private Road – Need a process documented for driveway/culvert permitting. Add it to the resolution.

NEW BUSINESS:

• Reviewed Zoning Code Rewrite Survey – filled out for submission

• Pam reported on Election Conference and will get quotes for new equipment (Badger Books and Ballot Scanner).

• Discussed Recycling contamination penalty

• Schedule first Budget Workship for Oct 2oth at 1pm

• Met with Rural Insurance for 2026 renewal. We will review building values and large equipment.

ZONING REQUESTS: none

TOWN CREW REPORT: Troy Kavajecz reported on gravel for Old 13. Benson Electric will do repair at Sewer Plant conduit. Docks have been removed. DNR inspected the sewer plant. Need to review dumping receipts and get report form Bayfield County. Need to review if we need to increase sewer rates.
