September 12, 2022

Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm, by Chairman, Russell Bailey.    Pledge of Allegiance. Present were Russell Bailey, Ken Bodeen, Scott Jardine, Pam Holt, Marge Ogren, Nora Tribys, Brett Bodeen Troy Kavajecz and DuWayne Zupke.

Motion was made to accept the Emergency Meeting minutes from 8-31-22 minutes by Ken Bodeen, second Scott Jardine.  All in favor.   Motion was made to accept the meeting minutes from 8-3-22 by Ken Bodeen, second Scott Jardine.  All in favor.  Motion was made by Scott Jardine to accept the August 2022 Treasurer report, second by Ken Bodeen.  All in favor.

Fire Department (NO REPORT)/EMT Fire Dept minutes distributed for reviewAmbulance report read. 

Citizen’s Input – (at end of meeting) Citizen addressed board regarding assessments on Quarry Shores Road.

ON GOING BUSINESS: 

Kinney Valley Project – Construction nearly complete. Discussed wing walls and need for additional rip-rap requiring a change order in the amount of $1,940.  Change order has been approved by Ken Bodeen who has been overseeing the project.    Board reviewed and approved.

ARPA Funds – Braff & Helsing Roads – contractor will begin work at the end of the week.

Health & Wellness Grant –Waiting to hear from SurfacePro for the timeline for resurfacing – they hope to get it done this season.

Blacktop projects – we need to create a priority list of roads that need repair.  This will require getting estimates and the possibility of increasing the property tax levy to pay for these projects if we do not get awarded DOT grants.

Liquor License for Southshore Bar – Temporary license issued until new owners get Federal Tax ID and Wisconsin State Sales Tax numbers. 

NEW BUSINESS:

Cemetery – LeeAnn Hess reported need to clearing the south lot.  Keith Larson will inquire if we can have local National Guard members come in and help.

Snow Plowing – Rate has not been increased since 2008. Motion made to increase annual rate to $200 by Ken Bodeen, second by Scott Jardine.  All in favor.

Mice – need to contact exterminator for Town Hall.

Water Rate increase – 6 citizens that have water service are present.  Port Wing Sanitary District will be submitting an application to request an increase in rate.

Water and sewer will be hooked up at the “Old Bait Shop” on the corner of 5th and Washington.

Repainting Water Town – DNR Requirement.  Need to file intent to apply for a loan by October 31st.

ZONING REQUESTS:   none

OPERATOR’S INPUT: Wheeler Drive cannot be listed on DOT roads for Port Wing until we get it surveyed.  Pam will call local surveyor to get quote.  They are doing routine work – put down gravel on Touve Road.  Worked on circulating filter on sewer system and cleaned out laterals.  Put brusher on tractor.

Next meeting set for Monday October 3, 2022 at 7pm. Meeting adjourned by Scott Jardine, a second by Ken Bodeen.  All in favor.
